WHY DETOX?
You clean your house, wash your car, and every gadget you own goes for regular servicing. In fact, most of your gadgets and equipment should be under an annual maintenance contract (AMC). Just as dirt gradually builds up in our homes over months, toxins build up in our bodies. Yet, many of us do nothing to clean the body, mind, and soul of the accumulated garbage.
Throughout our lives, we continuously take all kinds of abuse on our bodies: wrong food, lifestyle, wrong thoughts, habits—in short, almost every kind of wrong that is possible.
Eventually, when this abuse reaches a saturation point, our bodi
es begin to protest, and results in form of various diseases and discomforts. We often rush to the doctor expecting miraculous healing for our ailments, not realizing that a regular detoxification program could have prevented the disease.
INBUILT MECHANISM OF THE BODY
Our bodies have a dedicated team of cleaners that work continuously and efficiently. They handle bacteria removal, virus elimination, and toxin clearance to help us stay healthy. Much like a modern superhighway, the circulatory system manages an extensive network of blood vessels throughout the body smoothly, until obstacles like cholesterol accumulate. Similarly, the liver processes liters of blood to remove toxins. However, when our system is overwhelmed by too many toxins, it struggles to keep up. Just as even the best machinery can malfunction, the body’s natural cleaning processes can slow down under excessive strain.
Toxins pose a significant threat to human health. In today’s world, toxicity is a greater concern than ever. New chemicals in the air and water contribute to increased pollution.
WHAT IS DETOXIFICATION?
Detoxification is one of the oldest and certainly most effective healing methods known to man. People have known for a long time that detoxification–or cleansing the body with a toxin buildup– was certainly beneficial to their health.
It’s a known health benefit all over the world, and to us it means clearing out congestion. Especially in the highly toxic, industrial world of today, it means clearing out the toxins in our systems, and it means neutralizing the acid/alkaline balance of our bodies. This is far more important than we may think because an acid system sets up an environment for many diseases.
ROUTES OF EXIT:
The body has four main exit routes for toxins:
- Urine
- Stool
- Sweat
- Respiration
These collectively helps to mobilize, transform, and excrete toxins.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
Urine: The kidneys are responsible for flushing waste from the blood. Make sure you give them what they need by drinking plenty of water. Humans are predominately composed of water (about 66 percent by weight for men, about 60 percent for women). Drink plenty of clean water, at least eight 8 glasses of filtered water a day. Filter your own water and carry it with you in stainless steel bottles. One of the first signs of dehydration is the color of your urine. Your urine should be mostly clear or with a slight tinge of yellow. But, if your urine is dark yellow or has a strong odor, chances are you aren’t drinking enough.
Stool: One or two well-formed bowel movements every day is one of the best ways to get toxins out of your body. To avoid constipation drink plenty of water. It can make your stools softer and easier to expel.
Perspiration (Sweat): Your skin is your largest organ of elimination. Make sure you’re maximizing the detox-potential of your pores by working up a sweat at least three times a week. Consider using a sauna, exercise, steam or detox bath to trigger the body’s natural ability to detoxify itself through sweat. Many toxins and heavy metals (lead, mercury, cadmium, etc.) can be lost through the skin.
Pranayama: Every day the lungs filter out carcinogens in gas fumes, allergens from pets and plants, and spores of mold. Restricted or shallow breathing can diminish the power of the lungs by preventing oxygen from reaching all of your tissues. Breathing deeply and fully will oxygenate your brain, body, and spirit, transforming your health in the process.
WHERE DO WE COME IN?
We offer facilities like sauna in some of our detoxification programs.
